The Legacy Tourism Group worked with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation & their wholly owned Foxwoods Resort Casino in the concept development for two distinct tourism project areas on their sovereign and fee simple lands.
The work includes the completion of market and competition evaluation; target demographics for new experiences; high level business plans/proof of viability; conceptual facility design and site layout; sourcing specialized equipment and suppliers; draft tour & activity protocols; a staff recruitment, training and capacity building plan; and Foxwoods Marketing Team training plan for the new experiences.
December 2016 – Rod Taylor and Jim Depart visited the Foxwoods facility in Connecticut during the first week of December with the owner of the firm that will be supplying the Thrill District infrastructure. A detailed tour of the facilities was completed as well as a number of meetings with the Foxwoods executive team regarding the execution of this exciting project. Issues regarding proprietary intellectual property and product design continue to inhibit our ability to provide more information on this project. As the project comes closer to being launched more information will be forthcoming.
July 2016– Rod Taylor and Jim DeHart returned to Foxwoods Casino in Mashuntucket, Connecticut to review potential locations and component changes for the project at the request of the Pequot Tribal Nation government. A successful site inspection confirmed the best locations for the various attractions and included a visit to the amazing Pequot Museum, one of North America’s finest aboriginal museums (www.pequotmuseum.org). Rod and Jim will be returning in early December to review the findings, introduce the team from the firm that will supply the Thrills District infrastructure, and confirm the next steps with the Foxwoods executive.
